Stellar Agri is a registered organic wine and table grape growing concern situated at Trawal in the Namaqualand area of the Western Cape, South Africa, home of Stellar Organic Winery.
The Stellar Employees' Fairtrade Trust owns a 50% share in Stellar Agri, while the balance is owned by three of the Rossouw brothers.
The holding consists of an established portion of land, the 57.15 ha farm Boplaas, of which 27.15 ha is currently planted with table grapes. The remaining 30 ha will be planted with table grapes and new wine grape cultivars.
The 50% portion owned by the Trust is already irrigated land.
The aim of the joint venture is to secure a viable long-term investment for the beneficiaries of the Stellar Employees' Trust, namely the farm and winery workers.
The produce of Stellar Agri will be sold on the open market and profits will be split 50/50.
