Harvest to Wine in Stellar Record Time

From Harvest to Wine in Stellar Record Time

We are pleased to announce that, thanks to hard work and ideal weather conditions, our 2014 No Sulphur Added Organic White was bottled in the second week of February. Record time for Stellar and the local wine industry and all the more commendable considering the pressures of harvest!

The Chenin Blanc grapes from which this wine was made come from the cool-climate vineyards in the Koekenaap-Lutzville area, which are rapidly gaining a reputation for producing some of South Africa’s best white wines.

Harvested at the beginning of February, a highly-efficient effort by the teams in the vineyards and the cellar pulled a rabbit out of the hat for long-time customer Woolworths, enabling us to deliver the newest vintage of this popular No Sulphur Added wine just before stocks of the 2013 vintage ran out.

Woolworths had this to say:

A nice wine with a good tropical, pineapple flavour. – Allan Mullins, Woolworths Wine Selector and Cape Wine Master

This is a wine record for me as it is the first time I have tasted a finished wine in February of the year it was harvested. The NSA White 2014, is fine, crisp, apples, fruity and with a zippy freshness – Ivan Oertle, Woolworths Wine Buyer.

Stellar Supplies Woolworths with Organic No Sulphur Added Merlot, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and White wines as well as Organic Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay with added sulphites. All wines are to be found in the Woolworths Organic range countrywide.

Congratulations to the teams in the cellar and the vineyards for producing a quality wine in such a short time. We wish them all the best for the rest of the harvest. If this first bottling is anything to go by, it’s going to be a great 2014!
