Yet another wonderful project has sprouted from the successful School Holiday Feeding Project we’ve been running in Klawer since 2011.
When the feeding project launched two years ago, the Stellar Foundation looked to the Klawer Community Policing Forum to find volunteers to cook and serve food to school children in the area, who are left alone during the day while their parents are at work. An enthusiastic, dedicated team of women from the community volunteered, and has been serving thousands of meals every school holiday since.
As the feeding project grew, the team realised that they work together really well and found themselves sitting on a serious opportunity to start a catering business. Upon hearing about their inspiring goal, the Stellar Foundation began to look for ways to empower the ambitious cooking squad.
With that, Angel’s Delight Catering was born. Led by the business savvy Claudine Cupido, they already have a clear vision of what they’d like to achieve, have set some impressive goals and have a clear plan of action when it comes to everyday operations.
The “dream team” currently keeps busy by catering for Stellar Winery meetings, like the recent Trimester meeting, where we had over 100 farm workers in attendance. We’re in the process of having this wonderful new business registered, and will continue to support them by purchasing the equipment they need as the business grows and providing them with training in the areas of business cooking and baking.
Angel’s Delight Catering is available for weddings, birthday parties and corporate and other events. If you’d like to try their delicious creations at your event, please contact Irene Dell, Stellar’s Social Development Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
