This wine was aged for 2 years in 2nd fill French and American barrels. The wine has a dark deep red colour.
On the nose one picks up blackcurrants and vanilla ice-cream. A spicy note from the wood hints at cloves and on standing, some camphor. The taste of the wine reveals deep layers of complexity.
Tannins are also well integrated into the wine and build slowly and comfortably. Elements of the nose are repeated on the taste, with roasted coffee beans and caramel appearing. The solid structure of this wine will soften from 6 to 12 months.
