Richard van der Linden from Coenecoop, our agent in Holland, recently came to visit us with some of their customers. We welcomed Karin Bogers from Wineshop de Vijver in Breda, Ian van Eck (buyer at wholesaler Zegro in Rotterdam), Robin Ten who sells our wines to restaurants in Amsterdam, and Rutger Siersma who has a fantastic shop in Huizen.
Our guests were welcomed with a delicious lunch at Willem and Liezel Rossouw’s home.
Later on, the group had the exhilarating, truly South African experience of a farm tour from the back of Wilhelm Steenkamp’s “bakkie”! It proved to be a thrilling new way to take in the scenery for our guests, who absolutely loved it.
Wilhelm, Stellar’s passionate viticulturalist, introduced the group to our farming methods, and they were also able to taste some of the grapes that were still on the vines.
The day ended on a happy note, with Klaas, our winemaker, hosting a wine tasting session at the new Letsatso Lodge before dinner.
The second and final day of the Coenecoop team visit started with a tour of Steilhoogte Primary School to see the amazing work being done there. Read more about how this school has been transformed thanks to the Wholefoods Volunteers.
Klaas then took the group on a tour through our cellar, where they tasted wine in production in our barrel cellar.
And finally, a trip to the Cape is never complete without a seaside feast, so our guests travelled to Muisbosskerm for a tasty seafood lunch on the beach.
We’re thrilled to have hosted such a wonderful group, and are so pleased your stay in the Cape was an enjoyable one.
