Stellar Foundation has recently employed Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Jacobs, to see to the needs of Stellar Winery’s farm and cellar workers. Dr Jacobs will be working closely with Kim Roux, our Medical Officer, to improve the lives of our employees.

Dr. Jacobs, or “Tannie (Aunty) Lisbeth”, as she is fondly known, joined Stellar in February 2016 as a part-time employee. She has been trained as a Clinical Psychologist and teacher, and has worked in psychiatric hospitals, government departments of Welfare and Education and in private practice. Tannie Lisbeth has also gained valuable experience working as a teacher in a care centre for girls with behavioural challenges.

Dr. Jacobs has been actively working with 11 patients so far, and has already had 52 consultations with them to date. Her work has been such a great help in tackling issues like alcohol and drug abuse, relationship and psychiatric problems.

She has made valuable progress with patients who are in the process of adaption after rehabilitation from alcohol and/or drugs, giving them hope, support and the tools they need to build a substance-free future.

We are thrilled to have Dr Jacobs on our staff and know that she is going to help a lot of people.
